What is the ABEC?
The Annular Bearing Engineers Committee (ABEC) is the standards committee for the American Bearing Manufacturers Association (ABMA). The ABMA creates & publishes the industry standards. ABEC created an industry scale for the tolerances of ball bearings that has five classes, 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9. All precision bearings must have at least a rating of 1 to be classified as “precision.”
What materials are Lucre’s bearings manufactured from?
Lucre USA produces bearings with 52100 chrome/steel as a standard. Other alloys are available on a custom order basis to meet customers’ applications and specifications.
What factors should I think about when choosing bearings?
A few factors to keep in mind when choosing bearings are what the bearings will be used for, the type of environment the bearing will be in and specific data (i.e. speed, tolerance, load, etc.).
What type of lubrication is best?
As a standard, Lucre USA uses a general purpose lithium or polyurea based lubricant. Special order lubrication is available to meet customer needs, as well as dry or unlubricated.
